Welcome, March!

Well, hello, March and welcome.  I think most people are happy to see you.  Even if you dumped two to seven feet of snow in Tahoe over last weekend.

We forgive you, look forward to more sunshine and say, “Welcome, March.”  Stay awhile, won’t you?

I have been enjoying the extra light in the morning and evening.  It’s wonderful not seeing dark by 5 p.m. and wanting to go to bed.

Here are some of my March activities.

Garden

I planted some herb seeds and am cautiously optimistic they might come to something.  More likely, I’ll end up getting plants at the nursery and putting those in my herb garden.

My leaf lettuce didn’t do as great as I would have liked this winter, but what I did get is wonderful.  I get one or two salads a week out of it.  I’ve been adding the microgreens to the salad for extra nutrition and yumminess.

Bunnies!

Yep, the bunnies have made their appearance.  In fact, the marble bunny I got at Target mostly like will be a permanent, not seasonal, piece.  I love him so much.

The kitchen table is sporting some bunny activity too.

St. Paddy’s

Are you a celebrator of St. Paddy’s?  I’m not really sure if I am or not.  Fighting crowds for green beer isn’t really my thing.  I do love a good corned beef though.

A few years ago my sister Monique gifted me a pair of four-leaf clover sparkly earrings and I get a kick out of wearing them in March.

Do you think of luck in March?  If you do, tell us your lucky charm stories, please!

Easter

Easter is the last day of March this year.  Are you hosting or attending Easter events?  I have no plans as of yet, but it’s on my mind.

On a recent trip to Pottery Barn we saw the cutest Easter and Passover tablescapes featured.

Speaking of Pottery Barn, can I get your opinion on this outdoor furniture set?  The chairs are $1600 each and the sofa is $2600.  I have no idea what the table or poofs cost so I won’t torture you with the math.  But.  Isn’t it gorgeous???  Do you consider it worth the splurge?

Walmart has a similar look with rave reviews that constantly sells out.

Thoughts?  Nothing really lasts through Arizona heat – not even the powder coated furniture we currently have.

But I really like this lighter, airy look.

Wrap Up

Are you welcoming March as much as I?  Cold weather got old for me very quickly and spring is always the best.

God bless you and yours for a wonderful week.

  1. I love both sets but $$$. I need at least new cushions this year. I can’t believe you have been growing lettuce in Winter. How great!
Looking forward to Spring for sure!!!

    1. I don’t think you have At Home, but I got some really pretty deep cushions for next to nothing. Otherwise cushions are quite an investment.

  2. Yes, the furniture is gorgeous however, the price tags are not. I added those costs up and I’m thinking,…..Hmmmm, I could go to Europe on that total. Now days, I’m into spending money on experiences. I’ll wait to replace some of our furniture until we can no long travel and have to stay home and look at it. 🙂

    1. Brilliant. I’m going to put that thought in my mind and enjoy some travels this year. If we can keep out of the hospital!
