Perusing the Pottery Barn fall lookbook, I was inspired to create a lovely Thanksgiving tablescape. And then I started adding it all up. My goodness. Second mortgage, anyone? And, oh, yeah. There’s that little detail about how I’m trying to purge rather than buy more things. Here’s something else I’ve been considering: Thanksgiving no longer […]
I learned a very good lesson this week. And lucky you. I’m sharing it with you. So you can either learn from me, or rejoice in the fact that I was able to make the mess work out just fine. And the lesson is: Buy the thing you love. Find the bargain where you can. […]
It seems like everyone in the United States of America is either experiencing crazy rain or extra-warm temperatures. Hello, Autumn. Where are you? Here in Arizona, fall decorating is a little different. We may be pulling out the pumpkins and cozy throws, but we’re certainly not pulling out the sweaters. It’s still dang hot outside. […]
Autumn is the reward we Arizonans receive when we live here all year long. Summer is not for everyone. And winter can be a bit dark and cool. But fall……oh, yeah. Bring on that perfect weather. There’s just one tiny problem. September is not the month of perfect weather. It’s still really hot outside. But […]
Fall dining table decorated with warm neutral colors, wood, candles, and dark green napkins
I recently shared the small update my dining room table received to celebrate late summer. As in autumn does not show its face around here in August! I wasn’t quite ready to jump straight into pumpkins. Living in the Arizona desert, we really don’t experience the crisp autumn weather so many parts of the country enjoy. By the time August rolls around, I’m craving a cozier home, but not necessarily pumpkins on every surface. Instead, I wanted something organic, earthy, and understated—a […]
They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home. If that is true, my heart might be a traitor. Because I have a love/hate relationship with my kitchen. Please don’t judge me. Cooking and cleaning are just not my thing. And it seems the kitchen requires a lot of that. I always pictured […]
As most of the country is still reveling in spring, we are already in full-fledged summer here. And with Memorial Day right around the corner, I wanted to welcome the season with a lighter refresh in our bedroom. Not theme décor exactly, but something that still works with our neutral desert home. As summer approaches, […]
While we were out messing around on Sunday, we made the long trek to Pottery Barn Outlet. Honestly, if that place was closer, I would be there every week just checking to see what’s new. Dangerous! You know how much I love my outdoor drinking glasses and I’m always hoping to stumble across something good. […]
