Weekend Wrap Up

It felt like a really busy weekend for us, so I thought I’d catch up on that and do a weekend wrap up.  Even though it’s Tuesday and the weekend seems like a long time ago.

Dinner Out and Live Music

We had a little celebration Friday night with our DFs Evon, Barb and Stu at The Stillery.  This Nashville-based restaurant and bar has good food, generous portions, a great atmosphere.  And the most fun?  Live music.  Daily.  Sometimes starting as early as noon.  I know!

It’s so nice not having to wait until 9 p.m. for the music to start.  When you’re not a night owl, that’s downright painful.

Barb loves country music and the musician playing Friday night was right up her alley.

Saturday and Sunday we spent time with more friends and more eating out.

Let’s just say that there is vegetable soup in the crockpot this morning and I will be atoning for three days of eating out.  And sipping a little wine.

Model Homes

With DFs Katherine and Mike, we stopped at some new model homes after good Mexican in Cave Creek.

All in all the homes were pretty unimpressive, but I took a pic of some of the newer features being shown.

Drawers under the built in stove top look like a slice of heaven.  Next remodel, this is happening in my kitchen for sure.

The furniture trend is still the woven wicker, rattan or rope look that is especially popular for coastal or beach décor.  It is pretty, light and airy.

From barstools to ottomans, most of the homes featured this look.

At Home Skin Care

Remember when I stopped by Skin Esteem’s new suite and got this mask?  I freely admit I am lazy with skin care but I finally took the time for this mask.  It is refreshing but looked kind of scary when it was on.

Here’s a before and after.  Well, more like a during and after. Just in case you think I look better.

Incorporating new routines is hard for me, but I bought this ice roller a few months ago and have rarely used it.  Because it lives in the freezer and I don’t feel like putting it on my face in the winter.

I’m sure come 100 degree heat I’ll look forward to it, but for now, I’m making a concerted effort to roll it over my eyes in the morning to help with the puffiness.

Are you using one of these rollers and what do you think?  I bought it on a whim, but it gets great reviews and one reviewer even mentioned that using it for a sinus infection was a life saver.

Rainy and Cozy

We are in no competition with the rain our loved ones in California have been getting, but let’s just say our desert is already green and mother nature obviously thinks spring is here.

As I write this, I have my warm cup o’ joe, candles going and enjoying the cozy morning with soft rain.

If you need a throw blanket, this one from Nordstom is the bomb.  As in 2000 five-star reviews.  You won’t be sorry.  One reviewer bought 11 of them.  Six in her home so there are no fights for them and the rest she bought for gifts.

Well, I didn’t buy 11, but I bought several because they do make a beautiful and cozy gift.

Wrap Up

Thank you for spending a little time with me and reliving the weekend.  Time just pushes on as always.

I’m thankful for you and praying for blessings galore this week.

  1. I DO live Country and I will be going back to the Stillery to see if it was just a good day, or if they have good talent routinely!

I agree, as a recipient of one of the blanket throws…its lovely! (My dogs like it, too).
