Recent Trader Joe’s Purchases and Reviews

It’s been a while since the last Trader Joe’s visit and there were some new things I haven’t tried.   Here’s a little share of my purchases and some honest reviews.

Strawberry and Jalapeno Crisps

Okay, who in the world thought a strawberry and jalapeno combination might make for a good cracker?  I have no idea, but I’m awfully glad they did.  Heaven, hot, hot heaven on my tongue.  As in on-fire hot.  But delish.  They didn’t even need a dip or topping.

I might have had more than the allotted 11 crackers comprising a serving.  I hope those don’t go out of season quickly.  Because I’m buying more.

Candle Tin Trio

The strawberry basil is the first candle to get lit out of this box.  It took a while for the fragrance to surface, but it is very nice.  Not as nice as my favorite Anthro boulangerie candle, but also not as expensive.

Supreme Hydrating Eye Cream

In my humble opinion, TJ’s has really nice body products and they are far less expensive than purchasing elsewhere.
This eye cream is no exception.  It’s a perfect consistency and feels so refreshing around my eyes and mouth.  Recommend!

Radishes of Many Colors

It’s not really radish season right now and most are either too hot or no flavor at all, but these are beautiful and tasty.  They look so beautiful on a summer dinner salad.

Non-Dairy Chocolate Oat Beverage

There has been so much hoopla around oat “milk” lately I decided to give this a try.  There is a non-refrigerated and refrigerated version and I selected the non.

There is a crazy amount of sugar and calories for one cup, so it will be consumed only when the chocolate crazies get to me.  We also purchased regular chocolate milk.  It has 28 grams of sugar and the oat has 13.  Better, but still. Yikes.

No review as of yet because I’m not brave enough.  Soon.

What I’m Doing

DF Sollangy has started teaching a new weight class Monday mornings and it’s such a joy to take her classes in person after a year of Zoom.  But.  This month she’s off and though I miss her, DF Cindy is subbing and we had a great class.

DF Evon and I attended and honestly, there is no greater hour in my day than working out with two besties.  Even though my inner thighs hurt for two days after.

Great workout.

What I’m Reading

One of my favorite authors, Thomas Perry, is back on my Kindle this week with Metzger’s Dog.  Right here and now, I’m just going to say it.  This book is in no way, shape or form politically correct.  It was first published in 1983 and times were different then.

The forward by Carl Hiaasen should be skipped.  It’s a spoiler and can be read as an afterword.

With that out of the way, I can say nothing was too offensive and everything was hilarious.  If a snooty cat and a huge, monstrous dog sound like they make interesting characters, pick up this book. They aren’t central characters, but add to the fun.  It’s an intelligent and rowdy caper and I loved it.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for sharing my journey.

  1. If it makes you feel any better…. my inner thighs were talking to me a few days after class, too!
