Want to see the most amazing closet organization ever?
And I don’t mean one of those expensive custom built jobs either.
I mean a closet put together by the blood, sweat and tears of my dear friend Evon.
Here is what she did and if you want inspiration here is how to organize your clothes closet so it’s not only beautiful but functional.
Motivation
We all need a bit of motivation from time to time to tackle a gigantic job. And completely reorganizing a clothes closet is a BIG job.
Evon’s motivation was painting.
Remember when we were all doing one sort of project or another? Evon not only had the outside of her house painted, she had her entire interior done as well. Including closets.
So everything had to come out and that was the perfect time to purge items to be sold, donated or otherwise disposed of.
I’m not speaking for Evon, but for myself here. As some of us are finding with aging, our needs are changing.
Maybe we need different types of clothes. For instance a halter top or bikini or business suit will never be part of my wardrobe again. I have need to let go of items like that.
My knees loudly complain when I wear heels. So any idea of wearing stilettos needs to be retired.
But when your closet is full of your past self, it might be hard to find the motivation to let it all go.
Another motivation is having a space you love.

Evon’s bedroom and new summer quilt are so lovely. Who wouldn’t be proud to spend time here?
Products
I didn’t get links for the exact products Evon used for this project, but I clearly see one of my beloved Elfa drawer solutions from the Container Store.

Honestly, if a visit to the Container Store doesn’t inspire all sorts of organization juices, I don’t think anything will.
For shoes she used a set similar to this from Amazon.

For her bags she used wire dividers on the top shelves of her closet. It looks like she might have used these from the Container Store.

Folded tops are nicely sorted by type, color, etc. and folded perfectly and stacked into piles that won’t fall over.
Does this picture look like it belongs in a retail store? Have I ever told you Evon has a hobby job working for J. Crew Factory? Perfection!

All of the items on hangers are neatly laundered and pressed and sorted by color.
The hangers are all identical narrow profile velvet hangers.

Wrap Up
Many thanks to Evon for allowing me to take pics and share her amazing work. It certainly inspires me to get into my closet and organize my meager wardrobe.
The dog days of summer in August might have you spending time in the house. Maybe it’s a good time to think about your spaces.
If you do, please share with us. We love all the inspiration we can get!
As always, God bless you and yours for a wonderful week ahead.
