Welcome back to the December Fit Challenge. Today I want to remind you that if you have a lot of physical demands now, chores count! All exercise doesn’t have to happen in the gym.
A good balance of spending time with friends, eating a bit too much, drinking a bit too much and the dreaded chores.
I keep looking around for the good fairies who will clean up my messes, and I’m still stuck doing them myself.
And boy do those chores add up.
Sunday was filled with them. Gassed and washed the car, made a new dish I can’t wait to tell you about tomorrow. Here’s a hint. It’s from Skinnytaste. I cleaned the kitchen. Twice.
Then I cleaned the entire patio.
And I’ve written before how much work it is to blow and clean the patio. It’s worth it because it’s so pretty though. My pink snapdragons!
Vacuumed the house, did the laundry. Made a pot of chili.
Assembled my new desk (which I’ll also tell you about tomorrow).
Before dark fell, I got in a lovely, but leisurely stroll to the park. I’m finally sitting now to write this post.
I feel so productive, but I didn’t make it to the gym.
I’m not beating myself up over it. I still logged in over 5 miles on my phone and I wasn’t even carrying it all day.
And while I’m at the confessional here, I’m sneaking in a glass of wine I wasn’t going to drink while sitting alone.
It’s the perfect ending to a great weekend.
I hope this holiday season is treating you well and you are spending time with some loved ones.
Happy Hanukkah if you’re celebrating! 🕎
Hi Corine
Can you tell us your chili recipe? Was it in the crockpot?
Hi, Jann, I make it in the crockpot, but you can stovetop it for sure. I sent you the link for the original post with the recipe!
XO
Corine, I consider cleaning house, patio whatever exercise. Especially when you’re bending, moving, lifting, walking up and down stairs a billion times a day like I do because of having a two story house. All exercise. Just maybe no Cardio, I saw on the news today that we just need spirits of cardio, like running up the stairs instead of walking or walking. At a faster pace through the house.. just picking up your pace helps your heart snd prolong your life. 👍
I love that, Chris. I’m quoting you on my next post!
