Treat Yourself

Welcome back to the December Fit Challenge and in hopes of keeping you (and myself) motivated, we’re going to talk about how you can treat yourself this time of year.

Has the crunch hit you yet? I’m starting to feel it a bit. Double and triple booked for a week. And that hasn’t happened in a long time in my life. Wow!

But. I’m still making time for fitness.

To be honest, I started sliding down a slippery slope with my knee and my SIBO issues early this fall. I’m getting things addressed now, but it’s really not enjoyable.

So let’s talk about what is enjoyable. The many ways you can treat yourself.

Something New

I recently heard about these butter soft one-size fits all leggings. I ordered the capri size, because I don’t have many capris and they help me transition to and from our short winter.

Skeptical? Yes. One size? Have you seen how tall I am? Have you seen the size of my bootie? How can this possibly work?

Well, almost 90,000 five-star reviews made it worth a try.

Yep, they are that good. Wore them to physical therapy yesterday and they were easy to manipulate around my knee and I knew I wasn’t showing off any of my goods to the other patients.

A Bargain

Don’t ask me why, but I hate spending over $100 for a workout jacket. A piece of clothing that usually ends up on the gym floor and gets laundered quite often. And they are baggy and ugly.

So, I look for bargain jackets. Like from Costco. Or Walmart.Com. With solid four-star reviews, I purchased the Avia Resolution Jacket in white. Because I needed 😉 a white jacket.

I thought it was quite a bargain and is pretty good quality. Guess what? It’s now on sale for $10.

It’s the shorter, boxy look which is in style right now. Frankly, I like a bit more fitted and long jacket. But for for $10. Perfect!

A Gift

Isn’t this the perfect time of year to put on something that a dear one gifted you? I am wearing some Lulus Hub gave me for my birthday about 10 years ago.

DF Jan sent Bomba running socks which I’ve been wearing on repeat.

My heart fills up when I think about the love in my life.

Your Favorite

I have a favorite sports bra that is so old I don’t even know when or where I got it. But it’s so comfy. I most likely will never get rid of it. It makes me feel good.

You know that old Denver Broncos long-sleeve? Yep, I’m still wearing it. I don’t even know who plays for the Broncos anymore. Peyton Manning? John Elway?

My favorite running shoes (Asics) get used often and it’s time to get them replaced. Um, after the holidays.

Well, you get the pic, a favorite is a favorite. Even if it’s only suitable for wearing in the house.

Your Forgotten Item

Hey, dig down to the bottom of that drawer. Or shoe pile. Or headband collection. What’s in there you might have forgotten about?

A lot of the leggings I now have don’t have a pocket in the leg, so I’ve dug out my fanny pack and love having the room I need for everything on my walk.

Your forgotten items might work for you again. Or maybe it’s time to donate. For instance I found an ancient artifact in one of my drawers yesterday. A Fitbit. Going in the trash. Another story for another time.

But. There might be some treasure in there.

Wrap Up

May the items you’re treating yourself with during this season bring you comfort and joy. I didn’t just make that up. Love you!
