We all know the money-spending season is upon us, but today I’m sharing three money-saving hacks I’m using now.
The Frame TV
Samsung’s Frame TV is the brilliant solution to embellish your wall with lovely art instead of the black hole a giant TV leaves in a room.
It allows you to upload your own photos in beautiful detail, purchase from their art store, or from any number of artists, even on Etsy.
Oh, yeah. And it’s still a TV too.
I see this TV on almost every blog I read. Rave reviews.
With Black Friday coming up, Samsung is offering big discounts on The Frame.
But here’s the thing. I don’t want or need a new TV. In any room. I have plenty of TVs and I literally do not watch TV.
But I love the idea of art instead of the gaping black hole.
YouTube to the rescue.
I simply turn on one of the great music ambiance or art channels and voila, homemade art TV. I personally like the Jazz Cafe or the relaxing hymn channels. The music is nice to listen to and when I happen to look up, I see either nature scenes or beautiful art that looks like I’m in an actual seasonal café. Brilliant.
To display art without sound, the Art Deco channel has 80 famous paintings for four hours of screen savers.
As a side note, there are channels for pets to enjoy. Kinsey loves them and somehow she knew YT was going on and hopped right up there to see her favorite program. She was kind of disappointed.
Cable Wrangler
Do you have a problem with your phone cable falling off your desk or nightstand after you unplug your phone? Then you have to bend down (getting harder with each passing year!) and root around until you find the little sucker?
For the record I do not sleep with my phone anywhere near my bed, but I do have my iPad nearby. I saw an ingenious device called a magnetic cable manager on Amazon. When you unplug your phone it will hold the end for you.
Very clever. And almost $30. Nope.
My money-saving hack? A small Command hook on the back of my nightstand. It will hold both my phone cable and the cable to recharge my headphones/Kindle. Easy, nearly free and invisible.
Tray Lift
I recently found a pretty marble-like resin tray for the kitchen soap bottles and sponge. But the dang thing kept my counter soaked with water all the time. Water collected under it and would not dry.
We simply applied self-stick bumpers to each corner which lifts the tray high enough to keep it dry. We use these bumpers on our cupboard doors to keep from them banging, so they are something we always have on hand.
Saving money by using what I have and not searching for another tray.
Anthem Health and Wellness Club
For folks local to the north Phoenix area (or if you don’t mind taking a little drive), the club is hosting Bonnie Crutcher speaking on “Embracing Mother Nature for a Health Digestive and Nervous System.” Thursday, noon, December 1st .
The talk is no charge, but registration is requested via the link above.
Cozy Pet Corner
Seems like everyone is sending me sweet pics of their furry children. As if this is the season to hunker down and get a little sugar. Periodically I love to showcase pets other than my own!
Here are some of the sweeties you love.
This is DF Jimmy’s adorable Victoria.
Dear Sister Susie’s Henry and Murphy.
Dear Sister Monique’s Peaches, Archie and Robbie. She says Robbie and Archie pretend to hate each other, but get in bed together when nobody is watching. Ha. Cats!
Dear nephew Drew’s dogs.
Wrap Up
Can you believe Thanksgiving is around the corner? I hope you’re enjoying the fall season and girding yourself for any busyness around Christmas.
God bless you for a wonderful weekend.
Corine, great hack ideas. Thanks for sharing. I always get something from each and every blog. Weather, a hack, travel tips, recipes or reading material etc! I love it.🥰😘
