Sneak in Some Squats

Thank you for joining me on the last day of my December Fit Challenge. We’ve done a pretty good job so far, but to keep on track the last few days, I’m going to sneak in some squats.

The best thing about squats is that you can get an easy set of 20-30 in just about anywhere and anytime.

No special equipment needed. No special clothing necessary.

Well, I might not try them in a dress and heels.

I’m challenging myself to sneak in three sets of 30 each day. And since that is so close to 100, I’m really challenging myself to 100 a day.

Can I do it?

Will you keep me accountable?

Healthy Swaps

One last time, I’m sending all of Andi Coffee’s Healthy Holiday Swaps recommendations:

  • Serve veggies and hummus dip for appetizers.
  • Swap plain Greek yogurt for sour cream in your favorite dips.
  • Sauté onions and garlic for stuffing in a low sodium broth or extra virgin olive oil instead of butter or margarine.
  • Try mashed sweet potatoes with orange juice, ginger, and cinnamon in place of marshmallows, brown sugar, and
    butter.
  • Use 1% or 2% milk in mashed potatoes in place of whole milk or heavy cream.
  • Keep seltzer water on hand for in place of alcohol drinks. Pour over ice and add a twist of lime
  • Use whipped butter in place of stick butter.
  • Use olive oil mayonnaise in place of traditional mayonnaise. This produces a healthy type of fat.
  • Try a salad dressing spritzer in place of bottled dressings. Blend extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and Dijon
    mustard together for your own dressing.
  • Substitute jarred baby prunes, mashed bananas, applesauce, or plain yogurt for the fat in baked goods.
  • Split desserts with your spouse, a friend, or other party guests.
  • Chop vegetables and add them to soups, stews, salads, and casseroles. This will increase your fiber intake and help
    you feel more satisfied with less calories.
  • Add seasonal fruit such as apples, pears, or pomegranates to salads in place of dried fruit.

If you really don’t feel like getting in any squats, just do as Roxy does and find a ray of sun and enjoy your holiday!

  1. I am with Roxy, enjoy a ray of sunshine, and skip those Squats. But Corine I admire what you are doing and I am sure you will have no problem doing those 100 squats in per day. I have Covid big time now do I am not doing a thing.
