If you’ve been on this journey with me for very long, you know there is nothing I love more than tea. Okay, you might also know there are some things I love as much as tea 😉.
In fact, almost every time I post a baking recipe, there is a cup of tea along side.
But! Tea! And I was invited to a high tea party! I cannot wait to show you how special it was.
Denisse joined me as we were treated to high tea in Scottsdale. We were told that the tea, china, food and servers were all supplied by a caterer who specializes in tea parties. How fun would that job be?
Bougie Chef had two ladies on hand for this event assembling food and serving tea. In my case, I think I drank no less than 10 cups and I am in no way exaggerating.
There were several tables set with white tablecloths, pink napkins and each setting had a unique china cup. Walking around admiring the cups was so fun.

Food
The food was typical of what might be found at high tea. There was an assortment of tiny finger sandwiches, scones, white chocolate-dipped strawberries, petit fours and macarons.

Oh, and the refills kept coming as soon as our tier got low. A very small woman who shared our table said she ate 6 or 7 sandwiches; she lost count!

Tea
The tea served was a choice of English Breakfast or a decaf orange ginger. I really enjoyed the orange ginger and drank a lot.
To sweeten the tea, there was a creamy honey, honey sticks, beautiful sugar florets or sweeteners on demand.
Game
Just in case conversation lagged at any table, there was a bowl of conversation starters quipped, “Spill the Tea.”
There were a number of questions to ask each other. One such question was, “What was your first concert.”
Well, mine might have been David Cassidy.

We had fun answering a few questions, but frankly, our conversation moved along just fine.
Party Favors
I’m not sure if the caterers provided the favors or if our hosts did. But there was a large assortment of teas with cards explaining their properties and suggested serving.

Beautiful cloth tea bags could be filled with as much tea as desired.

There were also recipes for blending tea types together.

We were supplied cheerful pink gift bags to carry our tea selections home.
Wrap Up
Our hosts were so generous and gracious and the caterers were so nice and professional. We had a great time and if you’re looking to cater a special party, I would give them a two-thumbs-up recommendation.

If you are considering hosting a get together, I hope this is inspiration for something elegant and fun.
Thank you as always for joining me today and have a wonderful week ahead.
Great inspiration!
