BBQ Party Meatballs

If you’re looking for a crowd-pleaser for your next gathering, consider these easy peasy BBQ party meatballs.

This dish is ideal for entertaining because you can mix and fry the meatballs ahead of time and pop them in the fridge. Then heat them in a crockpot with bottled BBQ sauce for just long enough to heat them back up.

If you like using a lot of appliances in your kitchen, this checked the box of two of them. I used the KitchenAid for mixing and the Calphalon slow cooker to fry and then to heat the meatballs.

I also used my gizmo (otherwise known as the Pampered Chef medium scoop) to help me form the balls and keep them a uniform size.

it’s great to be able to use the insert of the crockpot on the stove top to fry the meat. It was easy to pour off the excess grease too. After cooling a bit, I refrigerated until about 30 minutes before party time.

It would be easy to modify these meatballs with ingredients you like or have on hand. You could also modify their size for tiny cocktail balls or bigger sandwich sizes.

I used two pounds of bacon ground beef (from my Seven Sons meat box) plus one pound lean ground beef. And then just a bit of oatmeal, dried onion, an egg and salt & pepper.

Oh, yeah and sauce from the giant bottle from Costco. And of course the giant bag of chips also from Costco. You’d hate to send your guests home without a nice helping of chips!

What makes these meatballs different (and delish!) is that the oatmeal and frying make them crispy. And then the sauce makes them juicy. Just the perfect combo
