September TJ Maxx Finds

No full-fledge fall decorating around here yet.  I like to dip my toe into seasonal decorating, and it’s way too early for pumpkins and leaves.  But I took a little gander around TJ Maxx this weekend and here are a couple of September finds I thought I’d share.

Some I purchased, some I did not.  Here goes.

Pearl Pumpkin

I absolutely am not putting any brown and orange out while it’s still triple digits.  But this pearl pumpkin was calling me “mama” so into my shopping cart it went.

No sense in putting it into storage, so it went right on my kitchen counter.  Because it’s white, it’s not over the top autumn and it’s so beautiful.  I love it.

Ruffled Footed Plate

And what better way to display it than sitting on a little ruffle footed plate? I know this beauty will get a lot of uses in different places in my house.

Cosmetics

The cosmetics selection is reduced to almost nothing, but I did find some brands I like and picked them up.  Of course, I had no immediate need for them.  But.  You never know.  Right?

All summer I have been using Amika Anti-Humidity spray to combat the frizzes from our crazy-humid weather.  Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray was on the shelf and I’m pretty sure it was a good price.  The It’s a 10 hand cream was no deal, but I bought it anyway.  I love that brand and I’m a sucker for any lotion.

Christmas

Do not worry, I did not succumb to a Christmas purchase.  But, I did see holly ramekins that must be on someone’s need-to-have list.  Okay, it’s just me that must have been ramekin-deprived as a child and cannot get enough.  Aren’t they cute?

And last Christmas find, à la Le Creuset, a small snowflake Dutch oven would be so cute to serve holiday soup or oatmeal on a wintry morning.

I’m sharing here, because if you see something you like at TJ Maxx you cannot go home and think about it. You pick it up. So if you’re so inclined to think about upcoming holiday’s, here you go.

Pet Supplies

Every spoiled animal needs a little Rae Dunn in their life, right? I could not resist these harvest-themed kitty dishes and now my girls are dining in style.

We are working on getting treats from this maze to slow them down. As you know, two of my girls are plus size and love their cookies. It’s not really working, but maybe we can all be trained.

Cat Tree

I’m thinking Handy Hub can rework our ratty old cat trees into something pretty like this.  They are expensive and ours just need a little foxing up.

I just took a picture, I didn’t buy it.

Full disclosure.  Our cats don’t really complain about the current state of their condos.

Area Rug

Between having pets and my constant spilling of everything, area rugs are something else I’m always on the hunt for.

Isn’t this Ralph Lauren a beauty?  I didn’t buy it.  But I love it.  And I’m still thinking about it.

What I’m Reading

Free on Amazon, I have found a series of Dean Koontz short stories meant to be read in one sitting.  And yes, indeed, it is possible.  And they are pretty good.

Sort of like a cross between Jason Bourne and Jack Reacher, the character named “Nameless” goes from job to job as a vigilante serving justice to no-goodnicks.  They are really bad dudes and deserve what they get.

Nameless is funded and employed by an unknown entity named Ace.

So far, so fun.  I have read In The Heart of The Fire Book 1 and Photographing the Dead Book 2.  I would recommend reading them in order.

On audio I finished Long After Midnight by Ray Bradbury.  I’m not ending my love affair with Ray, but this isn’t my favorite collection and I’m happy to see it go.  I finished it.  But I won’t recommend it.  At least not on audio.

Next post I will share another pumpkin recipe, but enough for now.

Sending lots of love and I hope you’re enjoying nice fall weather wherever you are.

  1. I love the pearl pumpkin, that was a find. I also love the rug, like you said if you love it you better buy it because it may not be there when you go back. Just saying! Is that Amika hair product really good for humid weather and curly hair?
