Way back in April, hub and I stopped in for a little window shopping at Pottery Barn.
And as always, I just drooled over their bedding. And the Scarlett quilt caught my eye. As in I loved it so much I shared it with you then.

Guess what? It went on sale! As in, actually on sale.
Not the usual sale where one size is discounted but the size we need is still full price.
So I snagged it.
Hub is not usually one for flowers in our room, but this time he even approves of the Scarlett quilt.
Why We Like It
Among the many things to love, the quality and heft of the quilt is just perfect for a family who all sleeps together in the summer.
Meaning two people and up to three cats at any given time.
The quilt is heavy enough to hold up but light enough for summer and so easy for bed-making.
Having a fussy bed (like the gorgeous floor displays at Pottery Barn) doesn’t really work in our house.
So it’s nice to have something so pretty and yet easy.

The red is my favorite shade and the background of beige and denim colors makes the saturation bright but not over the top.
And. Drum roll. It’s reversible.
So for a really neutral muted look, just flip it over.

And for muted with a touch more red, just flip the shams around and turn down the top of the quilt.

How We Styled It
I didn’t originally order the shams. But on a recent trip to the outlet store, I dug down deep into a box of bedding and found two shams. I got them both for less than one on the site. Yay!
I originally styled the bed with beige shams and it looked really pretty.
But these shams do take it to the next level. To break things up a bit, I used more of a denim color sham on two standard pillows and then two neutral pillows with a lot of texture.
This is just the right amount of stuff on the bed without it being too fussy for everyday.

What do you think?
Okay, don’t tell me if you don’t like it because I love it. But bright red isn’t for everyone. I understand.
Buc-ees!
And as a totally subject-changing aside, while we took a field trip to the outlet store, we scoped out the new Goodyear, Arizona location for Buc-ees.
I am so excited for that place.
The first time we went to Buc-ees was our big road trip and we cannot get it out of our heads.
In fact, our friends Mike and Katherine recently went on a road trip, stopped in a Buc-ees and spent three hours there. Yep, it’s easy to do.
I surely do hope I can hold on until grand opening!

Wrap Up
As always thank you for coming along as I walk my journey.
I pray you are doing well and enjoying your summer.
Hi yes I like your Scarlett bedding . I used to have
A denim and red themed guest room. It looked really cute. For some reason I changed it, several times over. I do like those cotton quilts they are perfect for summer weather. Good job!
