March in Like a Lion

Of course, everyone knows the weather axiom, “March in like a lion and out like a lamb.”

March being March is unpredictable.

It’s never really fair to treat Phoenix weather as typical, but March is certainly acting as transitional here as it is in other parts of the country.  Gorgeous pool weather last week and then John turned the fireplace back on by Saturday.

Oh, and the non-stop sneezing is another clue spring has sprung.  And I might say I’m not the only one.  Lots of runny eyes and noses around here.

In any case, March means spring and I love spring.

Being in the mood for spring means that my house might be throwing up bunnies by now.  Those suckers are everywhere.  You know what I think they have been doing while they were in storage the rest of the year?  Yep, making more bunnies.

Entryway Bunnies

World Market carries these grass bunnies and I think they are so cute and add an organic vibe here and there.

Toile Bunnies

My sisters gifted me with these dishes years ago from Ballard Designs.  I love them so much and still get them out to use every spring.  They are no longer available, but while I was surfing around I found Michel Design Works.  They have gorgeous soaps, dishes, paper products all at reasonable prices.  Hmmm, something new I will be investigating soon.

Do you remember the tulips that had great reviews from Amazon?  They are still available and I still love them.  Considering getting them in white.  What do you think?

Hassenpfeffer

Just kidding, I don’t eat bunnies.  I always think of Elmer Fudd hunting Bugs Bunny to turn him into Hassenpfeffer.  Otherwise I would have never heard of it.  Wonder how many things in my world are shaped by the Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner hour?

Papago Park

DF Denisse and I met up for lunch in the park and some walking around in the sun.  The day was perfect and lots of people posing in the hole in the rock.  Denisse and I ate lunch together (mostly outdoors) every single work day for years when we worked together in Reno.  Just like old times!

Hockey

DFs Shira and Gordon joined us for a Colorado Avalanche game at the Arizona Coyotes.  I was happy to cheer for either team and that’s exactly the one that won.  Do you really care who won?

Me neither because we had a fantastic time spending the evening with such dear friends.   Except the freezing part.  The arena was cold even for a hockey game.

Card Night

DF Evon hosted happy hour card night at her home and our old gang of Barb and Stu reunited for some tasty treats and some snarky comments while playing cards.

Gardening

Spring cannot come to mind without thinking of gardening at the same time.  John made a few trips out for soil, pots and plants this week.  We’ve got lettuce up and about ready to be picked.  He got some awesome tomato plants so hopeful on those.  Stay tuned!

Hummingbird Nest

We hang a feeder every spring and we are always rewarded with a mama building her nest in our yard.  Apparently the hummers like the trees next to our hot tub, and sure enough we have a precious nest with a mama high up in a tree.  I love sitting in the hot tub and watching her.

Tiled Mirrors

I never noticed this before, though I have been there a hundred times, but the bathroom at the Ironwood gym has tiles mirrors very similar to the job hub did recently.  Aren’t they pretty?  I’m still onboard with this easy way to upgrade a mirror or any frame, really.

Wrap Up

May your March (verb or noun) be blessed and mild and ferocious all at the same time.  Thanks for spending a little bit of the spring with me.
