Whether a casual barbeque for neighbors, a girls’ happy hour or dinner with friends, there are several go-to entertaining pieces I find myself using time and time again.
You’ve probably seen most of these tried and true pieces over the years (meaning I’m not sharing anything new!).
As I was preparing for a small gathering this week, it occurred to me that you might be interested in what works perfectly for any entertaining.
And you might have suggestions for the rest of us!
Some of these pieces are so old they are no longer available, so I’m linking what I would replace it with today. Where I could, I linked what I have for your convenience.
Dinner Plates
Coupe White Dinnerware from World Market are my go-to dishes for fancier gatherings. They are very simple, yet classic with a white glossy finish.

I say “fancier” because if you’re here and you’re like family, you’re getting my beloved everyday Corelle dishes. They are so lightweight, I handle a stack of six with one hand.
My white serving platters are also World Market. The one shown here is so large, it will fit all the meat and corn on the cob too!

Pitchers
Drink dispensers are so popular now. They are festive and fun and a good way to offer fancy water, tea or lemonade.
But. I have a lot of water pitchers. And no room for a drink dispenser. And my water pitchers are so pretty.

When I entertain, I like to offer water with fruit, iced tea and sparkling water from the Sodastream.
Both my pitchers are old from Pottery Barn. This is a Similar water pitcher from Pottery Barn. The other is recycled glass and is most similar to this one.
Cake Stand
Desserts are not my forte. So I’ve found placing my offerings in a beautiful cake stand makes what I have seem much fancier. The Pioneer Woman Cake Stand from Walmart is one of my best buys ever. It’s perfect for displaying humble desserts and making them seem beautiful.

Bread Basket
Okay, my bread basket is from Longaberger. And they’ve been out of business for how long? I know. It’s old. But every time I serve crackers or hamburger buns or cornbread, it’s my go to.

If I wanted to buy a basket today, this would be the one! The Monique Lhullier bowl from Pottery Barn.

Napkins
I shared last year my sisters gifted me patriotic napkins for my birthday. They remain one of my favorite gifts and it’s so fun to use them in the summer.

Wine Chiller
A couple years ago I got a stainless wine chiller from Amazon. It comes with a disk I keep in the freezer and simply place into the bottom of the wine bucket before placing a chilled bottle of wine in it. It really helps the wine stay cold!

Wrap Up
These really are my good old go-to entertaining pieces. I never have to worry if I’ll have the serve ware, tableware or barware for what I’ve planned.
Are you doing any entertaining over the long weekend? If you have anything to add, please share!
Thank you for stopping by this weekend!
Hi Corine! No entertaining for us, hoping for an invite somewhere instead. 🤷♀️
