Spring Grove Order

Receiving an order of cleaning supplies makes me happy?  Crazy, I know.  But.  When the Grove order comes, there’s a sweet handwritten note on the outside of the box.  And that’s just the beginning.  Here are the highlights from my spring Grove order.

I don’t use enough cleaning supplies to order monthly from Grove, so I’m not sure I’ll up my subscription next year, but I do like the service and the quality of the products I receive.

In addition to some old favorites, here’s what’s new and my honest reviews:

Method Glass Cleaner

We have been using a pretty good glass cleaner we get in a three-pack from Costco.  But now.  There’s a new kid in town.  Really, this stuff is good.  No streaks (even when I used it and I’m notoriously bad with glass cleaner) and best of all?  No ammonia smell.  I got the Waterfall scent and it’s very light.

Recommend!

Myer’s Clean Day Room Freshener

Room freshener is something I don’t use and don’t really like using.  I prefer to air out a room and just have a clean house.  But sometime fabrics just won’t release a certain odor.

So, even though this isn’t a fabric deodorizer, I purchased to use on the headboard in our guest room.  It hasn’t hurt the fabric a bit and the very light scent is pleasant.

I’m calling this a recommend, but I still don’t like using room spray.

Muse Pillow Ritual

I have no earthly idea why I ordered this.  Really.  Do I think a pillow spray with lavender in it will help me sleep?  After years of insomnia.  No, I do not.

And this spray actually smells more like eucalyptus than lavender.  Which isn’t a problem.  I like the smell.  Would I buy it again?  No.

But, it does get some good reviews online.

What I’m Eating

When Denisse and I had our recent mountain picnic, she brought a healthy broccoli salad and we both loved it.

Best Broccoli Salad from Love & Lemons is delish!  I don’t love mayo and this recipe calls for hardly any; the dressing is tangy.  This is a vegetarian recipe so it doesn’t use the typical bacon bits that are in broccoli salad.

But!  I didn’t miss bacon at all because the toasted nuts are so dang good.  I’m not sure it’s all that healthy when you eat the whole thing yourself, but at least I did spread it out over a couple of days.

Denisse said it wasn’t a messy recipe, but there are quite a number of ingredients, so of course, my kitchen was destroyed.  That’s how I roll.

Son and grandson spent one night with us.  We did a redux of the Pioneer Woman ribs that cook in the crock pot.  They were a big hit.

BTW, thanks for thinking I don’t look old enough to have a grandson.  😉

What I’m Reading

Written in the 1950s, I read the murder mystery, All These Condemned by John D. MacDonald.  Way more than a murder mystery, actually, more like a character study.  Good writing.  I’m going to read more by the popular MacDonald, but I’m still deciding what I think about this particular book.  Giving it three stars for now.

Wrap Up

Happy birthday to my DH John.  I hope your day is special and you enjoy the new Porsche I parked in the garage.

He says he never reads beyond “What I’m Reading” because I never write anything further.  If he sees this he’ll know that:

  1.  I do write more and
  2. He told me not to get him anything for his birthday, so
  3. No Porsche.
