Quench Your Thirst

Welcome back to the December Fit Challenge. I’m so glad you’re here and spending some of your holiday season with me! Let’s talk about why it’s so important to quench your thirst – even during winter months.

A couple years ago, I read the book Quench by Dr. Dana Cohen and Gina Bria. The connection between proper hydration and many health benefits is discussed.

Especially as we age, we feel less thirsty and drink less. A downhill spiral begins that can take a toll on our entire wellbeing.

The book isn’t really about drinking more water, but consuming hydrating meals and snacks during the day.

On the book-related Hydration Foundation’s website there are some mind-blower water studies. Check it out if you’re interested. They also have recipes and tips for making your current drinks more hydrating.

However, one the my favorite tips is to start my day with a glass of filtered water, the juice of half a lemon and a shake of Himalayan sea salt.

When I consume this drink before tea or coffee I feel my cells and organs blossoming and thanking me. My super powers are ignited and I’m ready to take on the day. Or clean the litter box.

I’ve shared this on my blog before, but it seems like a good time to revisit.

Pampered Chef Toys

And I get to use my two of my most-used Pampered Chef toys. We use the Utility Knife several times a day. It is the perfect knife.

Our Citrus Press is so well used, the coating is wearing off the ends. Another great PC find.

Wrap Up

Well, you know, champagne is my hydration of choice, but….. 😉 during this holiday season, I’m making sure I get plenty of water.

Cheers!
