DIY Project Home Decor Remodeling Project

Project Inspiration

It seems like many of you are smack dab in the middle of some big projects. And while these aren’t mine personally, I thought sharing some project inspiration would be good reading.

Dear friends who have shared their home improvements seem to be dealing with varying levels of frustration. From rising material costs, lack of contractor engagement and supply chain issues.

But, things are moving along and here’s what we have now.

Bathrooms

Chris and Bob are updating one of their Reno home’s bathrooms.

She and hub Bob have chosen gorgeous materials and furniture.

That waterfall countertop. Be still, my heart.

And here is their remodel so far.

Now let’s travel across the country to northern Indiana where our dear friends Jan and Ted live. While Chris and Bob have an old, stately (and beautiful!) home, Jan and Ted have a new, modern home.

But, if you know Jan and Ted, a newer home does not stop them from wanting to remodel. Oh, no. Let no grass grow under those two!

They recently removed the tub from their guest bath and installed a walk in shower. And a modern fancy sink!

They installed a new barn door on their upstairs landing for guest privacy.

Again, more beautiful finishes.

And I guess they had a grab bar installed for when I come visit. Many thanks for that kind consideration, my friends.

Evon’s entire home was remodeled when she moved in a few years ago, but she installed new bathroom mirrors and they looks so updated and pretty.

My sister Susie and her husband Mike did a flooring remodel in their bathroom. Their travertine flooring was not holding up, so Mike personally removed it and installed new tiling. He is an amazing remodler!

And though you can’t really tell, they also replaced their toilet with an ADA height. Isn’t it crazy we’re at the age we need that stuff?

Susie had two knees replaced this year and I’m sure this will be a nice change for her.

New Trim

Shira and Gordon installed all new baseboards and door molding. This was a really big job because they had to move furniture and clean out closets.

The purge is real, my friends.

But they are delighted with the outcome and hub wants to do it in our house now!

New Home

I don’t have pics yet, but Julie has purchased a new-to-her, but not new home in Oregon. I’ll be excited to see what she does because she has really good taste and a nice flair.

She’s been happily surprised with the previous owner’s record keeping of house projects. She texted me this and says, “Who does this?!”

Exterior

You may remember we had the exterior of our home painted last month and we are so happy with the new color palate.

Evon also had her house painted last month. She lives in the same community we do, so has the same HOA color selection. She chose grays that really make her stone front pop.

This pic was taken by the painter (same one we used) but I think you get the idea of the two grays she used.

Denisse is working on some projects at her house. Which is an understatement. She’s had to basically move out and move back in.

She painted her entire house interior Antique White which matches her remodeled kitchen.

And! New floors which she’s going to love!

Her new flooring is LVP by Regency in the color “Brighton.”

In addition to interior painting and new flooring, she found time to house sit for her neighbors.

She shared a picture of their resort-like backyard. I don’t know these people, but hello. I’m coming over for a fruity drink.

Wrap Up

Thank you, friends, for sharing your projects and inspiring the rest of us. It’s so hard to get started on something new and so hard to live through a project.

But, ahhhh, when it’s done!

God bless you and yours for a good week ahead.
