New Recommended Purchases

I found a couple new recommended purchases that you might NEED to hear about.

Why spend any money if you don’t have to?  And if you do spend it, I hope you love what you get.

Isn’t it delightful when something way exceeds your expectations?  And you’re happily surprised?

Am I the most simple being on earth when I can get delighted by socks and towels and a coffee mug?

Well, have a seat and bear with me here.  Is that the right “bear”?  Should it be “bare”?  Grammar police, step up and comment please.

Anyway, sorry, I digress.

Fellow Mug

I have this humongous problem every morning.  I only like my coffee hot.  Piping HOT!  And it stays hot for about two sips.  And then into the microwave it goes.  Over and over.

I considered getting one of those mug warmers and this and that.

And then.

Then I found out about the Carter Everywhere Travel Mug.  It’s stainless steel (like the Stanley) but the inner mug is ceramic.  So there is no metallic taste.  And the lid comes off with a really nice rim so it’s just like drinking from a cup and not from a straw hole.

My coffee stays brewing hot until the last drop.

I will say, it doesn’t have a graduated bottom, so although it’s a “travel mug” it won’t fit in your car cup holder.

And it comes in the nicest fabric bag with the best packaging.  I am just a sucker for cute packaging.

I think they sell this mug in a lot of places, but I ordered mine from Nordstrom.

WelHome Towels

For years and years I have purchased Costco’s Charisma towels.  They are a nice weight and they last forever.

Finally our latest purchase (from like five years ago) started fraying a bit and fading.

Well, guess what?  Costco stores aren’t carrying that brand now.  What?!

So I bought a couple of the single WelHome bath towels, brought them home, washed and dried them.  And.  Was delighted.  They are so soft and fluffy and better than anything from a nice hotel.

But they don’t come with a hand towel.  Dang it.

I ordered a package of well-reviewed hand towels from Amazon and I have to say I’m a bit underwhelmed, so we’ll skip that for now.

But when I get out of the shower.  Cozy!

Bombas Socks

Bombas socks are not a new brand for me.  But like those towels I mentioned, they last a really long time.

I have finally had to start throwing my last batch away because they were wearing out at the heels.

Again, from Nordstrom, I bought a package for me and one for hub. They are so good.

They are soft and warm and no slip.  They are also expensive.  But if you have a problem with ankle socks slipping, they are worth the money.

Wrap Up

Thanks for shopping with me.  Ha!  If you’ve tried any of these, let us know what you think too. Or, if you have any recommendations we might not have heard about, we NEED to know.

This weekend was a good one even though the weather wasn’t great.  Our local Anthem Days celebration was happening and I took a walk to the park after it dried out a bit to see what was going on.

There were some really nice booths to visit and this year included a small petting zoo.  A miniature pig, three bunnies, two pygmy goats and two tiny Malaysian chickens.  They were all super sweet.

This is Toby. He’s very handsome.

Oh, you know it.  I would still be there cooing over them all if those little children hadn’t been in my way.

Sunday night we went to Phoenix Theatre and saw Beautiful.  Carole King and Tapestry remains to this day among my favorites and probably the only music from the 1970s I can still stomach.

Another exceeded expectation rating. I could barely keep the smile off my face as I watched and listened to that music.

It was a late night, but worth it!

You may or may not have noticed I had some big problems with my blog this week.  Technical problems.  I had to call in the big guns – my sister and BIL – to help me out.

For some reason, my subscriber email didn’t go out on Saturday, but I did post and you can see it here.

What do you have on tap for the week?  Whatever it is, God bless you and yours and I hope it’s great.

  1. Good info! We boil water and put in our coffee mug to heat it first, then I froth milk and nuke it. Then it goes in the mug. That is a lot of steps so I like your new mug. Happiness in a mug!
I have to have very thin no show “liners” for dressier shoes that stay up. Any options for that?
