New Amazon Kitchen Finds

If youā€™re a regular reader, itā€™s no secret I hate spending time in the kitchen.  To cook, that is.  Eating, ummm, yes, I love that.

And.  Since I love eating, it necessitates time in the kitchen.

Oh, and Iā€™m a naturally tidy person with very messy kitchen habits.

You can see that this is a recipe for disaster (pun intended).

So when I see new kitchen finds that might make life easier or tidier, my ears perk right up.

I couldnā€™t wait to show you my new Amazon purchases in case you think they might make your life easier too.

Supoon

This Supoon is a scraper, a spatula, a measuring spoon and a spoon rest all in one.Ā  The weighted handle means that when you pour a liquid (such as oil) into the cradle to be measured, it wonā€™t tip over.

And since I have white counter tops, anytime I can keep what Iā€™m cooking off them, itā€™s a win.

I found the handy gadget for $10 on Amazon with over a thousand perfect reviews.

Plastic Mason Jar Lids

I love using glass jars for all sorts of things.  Making salad dressing, storing iced tea in the fridge, holding doodads.

But since I am not using the jars for actual canning, I donā€™t need the two part ring and lid.  And saving those for everyday use means using them with rust and they stick a bit.

So when I saw these plastic lids, I knew I found the perfect answer.Ā  And they are so much better than I expected!

For less than $10 I got 16 lids for large jars and smaller jars in gorgeous bright colors.  I  tried them out on a Ball jar and a Kerr jar and they both fit perfectly and smoothly.

The box includes plastic gaskets in case you need to seal something securely, but for my everyday use, these lids are just right.

Under Cabinet Light

Last month I shared the rechargeable LED lights we placed under the cabinet on our beverage bar.Ā  It has been so perfect, I want to order more for different places in the house.Ā

After its initial charge, I have been using it daily for my morning brew and it still hasnā€™t needed a recharge.

This is another winner!

What Iā€™m Eating

Okay, not really me.  But Julie sent me an idea for a meal to make when youā€™re cleaning out your fridge.

I donā€™t know if Iā€™m allowed to share details, but Julie is getting ready to move and wanted to use up her groceries.  She came up with this delicious-looking one pan meal.

This is what she used:

  • Chicken tenders
  • Zucchini
  • Tomato
  • Leeeks
  • Pesto
  • Salt & pepper
  • Olive Oil
  • Protein pasta
  • Parmesan for topping

Thanks for sharing this, Julie.  I could almost smell it cooking from here.  Oh, except she lives in Denver.

What Iā€™m Reading

My sister Monique recommended The Maid by Nita Prose.  If you like quirky characters and a good mystery, youā€™ll like this one.

Weekend

Since the weather turned hot and the freeways have been under construction during weekend hours, we have sort of been holed up.

But yesterday we went to our first Arizona Rattlers (indoor football) game this year.  They are so much fun and itā€™s nice to see families enjoying their time together.

Scoring warrants some sort of cannon booms and player introductions are greeted with fireworks and flames.  Lots of crazy energy.

Wrap Up

If youā€™ve found any must-have kitchen utensils, please let us know.  Weā€™re always on the hunt for something handy around here.

Vacation mode is in full swing and a lot of folks have headed for cooler climes this month.  It might get a little lonely, but Iā€™ve loaded up a bunch of books on my Kindle and Iā€™ll have some books to report on soon.

Have a wonderful week ahead and many blessings on you and yours.
