Easy Spring Outfits: Preppy Looks from Talbots, Walmart, and J.Crew Factory

This year’s spring fashion is right up my alley. I’m seeing so many preppy classics—stripes, bright colors, and crisp white denim—all pieces I reach for year after year.

I certainly have a uniform, but if you’re looking for easy spring outfit inspiration, I’ve put together a few outfits from some of my favorite stores.

Talbots

I did a Talbots restock and refresh for basics during their big sale.  I purchased several tees, some athletic wear and nighties.

Talbots may not always be the trendiest, but the quality is exceptional and the fit is consistently reliable—which, at this stage of life, matters more than chasing every trend.

Here is one outfit I wore to a Galentine’s event. The adorable sneakers are a Dillard’s gem.

My spring uniform rarely changes: a cheerful long-sleeve tee, white jeans, and comfortable sneakers. It’s simple, classic, and always feels like me.

Walmart

You might remember I found some adorable Walmart finds I shared a few weeks ago.  I can tell you that everything is a 10/10.  I have worn everything more than once.

And now from Walmart I found the cutest athletic dress.  I’m convinced that wearing it with a pickleball paddle in hand would make anyone look like a mature Barbie doll—in the best possible way.

To this day I wear Reeboks to step class or on the pickle ball court.  They cannot be beat.  And this Swarovski tennis bracelet!  It’s on some crazy sale with over 1,000 positive reviews.

I’m not in the market for a bracelet, but this one is incredibly tempting.

I am not an affiliate, but I’ve linked the items for your convenience in case something catches your eye.

Walmart continues to surprise me with stylish, affordable pieces. This athletic dress is flattering, comfortable, and perfect for everything from errands to pickleball.

J Crew Factory

J Crew Factory always has such cute seasonal clothes with one sale after another.

A bonus is that my dear friend Evon works there and always gives me a heads-up when something with “me” written all over it arrives.  And she’s a darn good personal shopper if you ever need one.  It’s not her actual job, but…

The striped bow-back top caught my eye and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to get it.  Isn’t the cutest?  Do I need another stripe?  Nope.  Do I need another bow?  Nope.  But when they both exist on the same top?  Yep!

I would skip a necklace with this top and opt instead for simple drop earrings. And the sailor jeans complete the look perfectly.

This J.Crew Factory outfit feels like a natural extension of my own spring uniform. The striped bow-back top adds a feminine surprise, and the sailor jeans give it a classic nautical feel.

Wrap Up

Spring is my favorite season, and that alone is reason to celebrate. And what better way than with a new outfit—especially one that’s easy and effortless.

Sometimes the simplest outfits are the ones that feel the most like yourself.

I hope spring is beginning to show up where you are and that you have something lovely planned this weekend.

As always, I’m praying for you and yours.
