In an effort to be the perfect guest, and to get invited to return, I spent the morning cleaning my sister Susie’s Colorado mountain house and thought you might like a tour.
So come along with me as I vacuum and dust (full disclosure, hub did most of the vacuuming) and I’ll give you a tour of Susie and Mike’s gorgeous Cripple Creek home.
Susie has a woodland theme throughout the house with coordinating art and décor and linens. It takes cozy right off the charts.
Balcony
I’ve shared more than one picture enjoying days and nights just soaking in the Colorado air and mountain quiet. I think we counted they have FIVE balconies.
This is one off their upstairs bedroom. It gets late morning sun and is perfect for reading Orphan X. Just in case you need to know that.
Kitchen & Eating Nook
As you enter the house, you come into the eating nook. Which is also my laptop perch for keeping up on my blog posts.
The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you’d need to host a party for all of your friends.
Even their dishes are cute!
Living Room
There is a balcony sitting room, but really the piece de resistance is the living room.
It’s a long room with a comfy leather couch facing out soaring two-story windows. And a wood burning stove which thankfully we’ve never needed during our August visits.
When the sun goes down or the afternoon rain rolls in, this is a perfect place to do an iPad puzzle or read a little (more) Orphan X.
The stairs lead up the the sitting room and bedroom/bathroom.
Bedroom & Office
On the main floor, next to the living room, is an office/guest room with the cutest bedding. Just down the hall next to the stairwell is a full bath.
Upstairs, next to the loft sitting area is a huge bedroom and bathroom.
This view shows a glimpse of the amazing windows in this house.
Susie and Mike are so generous to bless us with staying at their home and we are so thankful and refreshed when we leave.
I hope you enjoyed seeing where we get recharged!
Wow, lucky gal! So awesome that Susie & Mike share their CO home with you. What a great sister you have =).
Ah, I read your comment to Susie and she smiled ear to ear. Thank you for your sweet comment.
Wow that is beautiful and serene! Sister time is good time.
Oh, man! We have had so much fun! Your sister is a delight too.
Such a relaxing, beautiful retreat and get a way from the AZ heat! Lucky to have such a generous sister!! Love The home! Are there scratch marks on the door as you try to hold on while John pulls you out to come home??🤣
Hahaha. It was great. John loves the cool weather even more than I do.
