Athleta and Ulta Spring Haul

A small Athleta and Ulta spring haul was squeezed in between a couple of appointments. Sharing what I got, what I didn’t get, but loved and some of what I tried on.

Athleta

Frequent appointments to the west side of the Valley of the Sun has let me explore some new areas.

DF Evon, who is a shopper par excellence, educated me about a new Athleta store in a beautiful outdoor mall on Northern Avenue and the 101.

I popped in after my a.m. appointment and they were closed. Yep, they don’t open until 11. Good grief. That’s practically happy hour. The best part of the day is over.

Well, making lemonade out of that, I drove a mile up the road and visited Ulta until 11 and made good use of my precious time.

Lots of Merch to Try On

The Athleta store is new and lovely and well merchandised. The sales people were helpful and cheerful.

And. They told me a new store is opening in our neighborhood very soon. I need a job.

Sale

The new spring and summer look is full of bright colors and is right up my alley. A little on the pricey side though.

The sale racks had a good amount of basic Tees and sports bras which is really what I was looking for.

And then guess what I found out? The identical shirts were on sale in the “Athleta Girl” section which is for children. Rather big children I suppose because the clothes there fit me just fine. Even the sports bras. Ok quit laughing.

Here is an example of the price difference:

The Athleta Girl Power Up Tee was marked to $34.99. With a 25% discount and an additional rewards discount of $1.21, the total price was $14.30. The ladies tee did not show a mark down, but I suspect it was probably 25% off as well. But! The original price of the girl’s tee was $45 and the women’s was $69.

I understand not everyone can fit into small sizes, but these shirts are roomy enough I actually had to size down to a Large from XL. So, consider looking in that area.

Here are some of the try-ons with descriptions below.

My haul consisted almost entirely of girl’s clothes with the exception of one oohlala sports bra. Which nobody will see of course.

Ulta

The Ulta store in our neck of the woods has the prettiest nail polish section so I thought I would check out the nail selection in the store near Athleta. Their nail displays were mostly empty for some strange reason, but looking at all the beautiful OPI colors felt nostalgic and reminded me why I love that brand.

I purchased two bottles of a gel polish to use with my LED called Red Carpet brand. I’ll report back.

OPI has glue-on false nails in their most popular colors. I couldn’t resist buying a package of Strawberry Margarita which is my favorite pink of all time.

ELF consistently gets great reviews and is so inexpensive, I wanted to try out a few things. Additionally, they are cruelty free and vegan, so there will be no guilt when I fall in love with something and buy it again.

I am trying their primer for mature skin, a brush and sponge combo and a mini eye shadow palette.

While I was there I got a new roller ball of my fav Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue. Roller balls are the best way for me to buy perfume. I can use it all up before it goes bad.

I’ve been shopping a little more at Sephora, but this was a good experience at Ulta.

Wrap Up

Thank you for joining me on my little shopping trip. I’m all set for summer workouts and excited to share some new exercises with you on my next post.

XO

  1. Looked like a fun-filled day! I’m curious to hear where the new Athleta will be near us. Do tell!

  2. Great information about the girls clothing line at Athleta . I donā€™t know if our store carries girls, but I will have to check. I shop girls or boys departments a lot, especially for workout or casual clothing. Also, do you like Gel nail polish? Does it hurt your nails? And, do you have to use a special nail polish remover?
