Spring Refresh – No Shopping

With longer, warmer days, I was ready for a spring refresh, but not ready for shopping. I dug out all my Easter/Spring stuff and used a bit of it here and there.

Right after Christmas I did my bigger spring decorating because winter is so depressing to me. I’ve been happy with the simple clean look, but now I’m ready for a bit of color.

Which is a bit of a dichotomy (is that a word?) since I have a VERY neutral bedroom going on. No color at all. I’ll need to address that at some point, but let’s get into what I did accomplish.

Entry Console

Last year Pottery Barn was featuring bright yellow freesia in their spring line and I was instantly in love. I duped it at TJ Maxx and wanted to use it again this year.

I simplified my console table using only my beloved Minka pot. Oh, and btw, I saw that TJ is now duping that pot for about 1/4 of the cost at Anthro.

You can see under the table I have stools with the cat warming blanket I found at Aldi. Roxy gets up under there and snoozes in peace.

Bedroom

I know, this is really boring. We removed the chambray duvet cover because it was such a hassle making the bed with it every day and because the nights are no longer cold.

Actually, the nights never really got cold this year. All our winter bedding stayed in the linen closet.

The chambray and taupe look in our room is a really good one so I’d like to recreate it somehow with just a quilt and not the duvet.

But for spring, hub removed the fuzzy wreath above the bed and rehung the botanical prints we have had forever.

Your opinion, please. Is this way too boring?

Kitchen

This is the room I had the most fun adding bunnies.

On the counter I stacked my bunny toile plates on a plate rack.

The lazy Susan got an upgrade with a bunny egg holder and tiny cabbage plant.

The morning light streaming in always makes my picture taking even worse than it already is. But here’s a pic of what I see when I’m considering a third cup.

Living Room

For just a touch of spring, my marble bunny from last year found a new home on the coffee table. He’s hard to see but he looks pretty cute. In an understated way.

The dining table has an PB bowl from years ago with a million faux hydrangeas. I have purchased two different types from Amazon but the stems I originally got from PB are still the best. They are so white and fluffy.

All in all, I’d say PB’s florals may not be worth the investment, but if it’s something you think you might want to use year after year, they rarely disappoint.

Wrap Up

Thanks for sharing my spring refresh with no shopping.

There is still a box with plenty of spring geegaws in it, but I think I’m happy with what I’ve got out.

Easter isn’t until April 20th this year (which coincides with one of my bestie’s birthdays) so I’ll enjoy my bunnies for a good long time this year.

Have you started any spring decorating yet?

As always, God bless and have a good week!
