How to Make an Impact with Small Art

I like to mix things up in my home décor. Umm, a lot. Like I could replace my stuff every season. And then I’d have to shop. And then I’d have to purge.

So this weekend, I shopped my house and I’m sharing how to make an impact with small art pieces I purchased from Amazon. Almost two years ago!

And a couple of cute things I think you’ll like 😉.

Vintage Modern Prints

Well, isn’t that an oxymoron? Can you be vintage and modern all at the same time? I’m not here to argue with the marketing department, so I’ll just tell you that is the description of small gallery art I purchased and is still available from Amazon.

These moody prints are so pretty and make a lovely gallery wall. Which is what I originally purchased them for.

The budget art gallery wall in our bedroom turned out really pretty.

And then.

I decided to do something different. So I took down all the pieces and put them in my closet.

Complete aside. Isn’t the word “budget” ugly? I think so too and I try to avoid using it. Sort of like the word “diet.”

Lately I have seen a lot of designers use tiny pieces of art to style shelves, kitchen spaces, layered with larger pieces and coupled with plants.

Using a landscape piece with a silver frame on top of cookbooks in my kitchen gave me an unexpectedly cozy look with a candle and a plant.

I mean this tiny change is really pretty and I love it!

In the family room, I added simple pen and ink florals into the niche next to the fireplace.

Taking a few minutes to style the niche made a big difference. I put my large study bibles on the bottom so they’ll be easy to access.

Photos

About a year and a half ago (how does time go by so quickly??) I spruced up the guest room with Studio McGee art from Target.

Above one of the night stands we installed floating shelves and I have loved displaying photos of loved ones there.

Sweet Chris sent me framed photos of a wonderful excursion with the best gang of friends ever.

Pebble Art

Next time you visit and need to use the powder room, you will be treated to THE cutest pebble art.

Am I right? Denisse made these adorable pieces and they are perfect for this space.

Free TV Art

Okay, this is not small art. But I wanted to show you the difference of using various art presentations on your TV.

YouTube has a ton of free channels you can use to display art of any kind on your TV. Next time you have company, you might want to display something beautiful instead of a huge black space on your wall.

But here’s the thing. If the picture is too light or bright, it makes your room look garish.

The framed olive branch art is gorgeous. And goes with my décor style.

But the simple landscape coordinates so much better in my room.

Wrap Up

That’s it from here. Our two weeks of winter appear to be over, so I’ll be working on my tan this week.

What will you be up to?

Whatever you are doing, God bless you and yours and thank you for spending time with me.
