Grab your cup ‘o joe or tea and let’s sit a spell and chat, shall we? Time for a Tuesday check in.
Today I’m sharing a quick Trader Joe’s haul, a small but useful Amazon order, and an update on what’s happening with our local Buc-ee’s, because yes… it’s still a whole thing around here.
Trader Joe’s
My Trader Joe’s haul wasn’t a big deal — just a few things (at almost $100) to celebrate what’s going on this week.
Trader Joe’s is the place to shop for fresh flowers in our area. As in, there are people standing in line at store opening with buckets, ready to stock up.
And every time I go, I buy some alluring bouquet… then get it home only to find it’s partially dead and doesn’t fit well into any vessel I own.
So this time, I did things a little differently. Sort of like a pro would do. Or like those ladies who show up with buckets.

Instead of one bouquet, I bought separate bunches and made several arrangements:
- A dozen roses
- Silver dollar eucalyptus
- Baby blue eucalyptus
- Baby’s breath
Last year, Denisse and I met up with Cindy for a galentine event and made professional rose arrangements. And no matter how much I channeled that, I could not get these flowers to behave properly.
After much arranging, rearranging, and side-eyeing, I ended up with four arrangements — and I think they’re… ummm… okay. Not perfect, but definitely better than my usual attempt.
For snacking, I grabbed Hub the spicy snack bar mix and the ultra-dangerous corn chips. For my gals and me, I picked up some delicious veggies arranged on a heart-shaped dish.
And yes — for my gals — I found a La Marca Prosecco dupe for half the cost. I know they’ll be good sports and let me know how it measures up.

Buc-ees
If you have been here for more than one minute, you know how much we love Buc-ees. John and I were on the west side of town over the weekend (avoiding the east side and the whole giant golf tournament to-do). He wanted to drive by the site of the new Buc-ees and see how it’s coming along.
Well. . . you can see where the gas pumps will be and where the store is. Exciting!

Amazon
I’m still not an Amazon Prime member, so I just aggregate what I need until I hit their $35 free-shipping threshold and then push the order button.
Nothing earth-shattering, but a few things worth sharing.
I ordered another acrostic puzzle book because I am officially hooked. Anything to keep the brain sharp, right?
Also, if I do a puzzle at night instead of reading, I’m less likely to fall asleep on the couch. Anyone else with me on this?
Then the strangest thing happened — the top button on my iPad cover must have fallen off, so I couldn’t control the sound properly anymore.
Given how often I drop my phone and iPad, a cover is not optional. So that had to be replaced.
Hub also picked up a laser measure for an upcoming project I cannot wait to share.

The last item was bulk turmeric. Taking a teaspoon or two a day to help with inflammation really depletes those little spice jars quickly, so ordering in bulk just made sense.
I am in no way a medical professional, but what I’m doing (instead of medication) is this:
- About ½ cup coconut milk (turmeric needs fat to work)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- A pinch of black pepper (which enhances turmeric’s properties by up to 2,000%)
Sometimes I’ll add:
- A splash of maple syrup if I want it slightly sweet
- A splash of tart cherry juice if I want something more… tart
No matter what I add, I’m not calling this a delicious drink — but I’m hoping that with regular use, I’ll get some joint pain relief.
Wrap Up
Thank you for joining me this fine Tuesday and taking a peek into my little life journey this week.
I pray that your journey is bringing you joy in simple things, just like mine is right now.
May God bless you and yours. 💛
