Pet Food Storage

A perfectly fine pet food storage cabinet gave way to a beautiful new arched cabinet and I couldn’t be happier!

A few years ago we moved the cats’ bowls into the kitchen and needed a good place to store their food and supplies. A place that was not in the pantry where we keep our food.

To solve this problem, I found a cute little two-door accent cabinet on Wayfair that fit the small corner spot perfectly.

The style coordinated well with the tables in our adjacent family room.

But. Our kitchen is more French Country and it looks like we are staying with that style for the foreseeable future.

So I didn’t love the cabinet in our kitchen so much.

Over the past few years I have been captivated by the popular arched cabinets I see everywhere from Arhaus to Anthropologie.

But those cabinets are quite large and quite expensive.

And then! On a recent online shopping expedition with DF Evon, I found that some of those arched cabinets come in narrow sizes and are quite reasonably priced. If you don’t mind putting them together yourself, that is.

Target!

Kendra from Kendra Found It has found so many dupes for arched cabinets and I was thrilled to have this one linked from her from Target, of all places.

Both the Magnolia and Threshold lines carry arched cabinets, but I found this one for around $300 and it’s 72″ tall.

Now I cannot tell you how much I love this piece!

I am storing all the wet and dry cat food, treats and grooming implements here.

It sits right next to the not so pretty food station which includes this fountain and this mat.

What is pretty (in my humble opinion) is some of the beautiful things I styled on the shelves.

Adding my favorite under cabinet lights makes it looks so pretty at night.

Assembly

This cabinet is taller than I am and pretty heavy. Which means it is a substantial piece of furniture.

It also means I could not possible have assembled it myself.

Hub and I did it together in about two hours.

With the help of Roxy, of course.

The instructions were very clear (for John, that is) and all the parts were labeled and bagged nicely.

It called for no particular tools, but we would still be working on it if we didn’t use a power drill.

John has assembled so many pieces he knew exactly what to do and I appreciate his logical, engineering brain.

Wrap Up

Here is a picture of what my kitchen now looks like with this pretty arched cabinet storing all of our pet food.

The existing cabinet is repurposed as an end table in the family room and looks like it belongs.

Thanks for joining me on my latest home adventure (humble as it may be).

God bless you and yours and have a wonderful weekend.
