Moving Day

Big Red got loaded up with boxes as John and I flexed our muscles.  I know, that’s a bit misleading.  We’re not moving.  Praise the Lord.  DF Evon’s daughter Jessy is though. And we assisted a tiny bit.

It is so exciting that she has a new and beautiful place and is entering her next stage of life.  Her new townhouse is just blocks from her Skin Esteem salon.  The home and finishes are just stunning and I wish her much happiness here.  And Evon much happiness as she enters the next part of her journey.

Chair Yoga

I have a new love in my fitness life.  Now, don’t go making judgments about an old-folks class.  This class is challenging and wonderful.

Adorable Jenny is a new instructor at our gym teaching a Saturday morning boot camp and a chair yoga class.  What a perfect way to start the weekend.

I find taking yoga classes is really difficult as my joints decline, but chair yoga uses all the normal poses without all the up and down from a normal class.  My body feels remarkably different after this class and I am so grateful for it.

Sherry and I were a bit early so I snapped this pic of us getting ready for our workout.

If you have the chance to take a class like this, I highly recommend it.  But I’m not loaning out Jenny.  She’s staying right here!

Anthem Days

Twice a year our community hosts a carnival, entertainment, food vendors and local business expo.  Of course, last year that didn’t happen, but it was back on over the weekend.  It was a bit toasty out, but hub and I walked to the park and chatted with folks and browsed the tents.

Somehow the Army recruiters didn’t seem too interested in us.  Hmmm.  But we surely were interested in their Hummer.  OMG, that thing is huge and the places inside to sit are so small, even I would be cramped.  I tried to take it out for a spin, but they wouldn’t hand over the keys.

What I’m Eating

Insta Pot Beef Stew

Experimenting with the Insta Pot continues this week with this recipe from KristinesKitchen.  Here is my honest review.  The meat turned out great.  But.  The vegetables were practically mush and I followed the instructions.  The flavor wasn’t as great as my own recipe either.

It did taste better the second day, but I’m going to return to my crockpot version for the future.

There’s never a bad day for stew though.

What I’m Reading

Oh, yes I did.  I found a new book about my fav, Doc Holliday.  While at an airport I saw Tombstone by Tom Clavin on the shelf and I just couldn’t resist strapping myself in for another ride on the historical journey.

I’m honestly not expecting anything better than the Mary Doria Russell version, but Clavin is a bestselling historical author, so I’m looking for a good time anyway.

Reviews coming soon.

Well, you can see we had a busy weekend and now it’s nose-to-the-grindstone time again.  Have a wonderful week.  XO
