Honest Review of Fusion Mineral Paint

Do you remember when hub painted our console table to better coordinate with our old dining set?  And then.  We got a new dining set.  And then.  The white looked a little stark in our entryway against the new table.  And then.  I heard about a specialty paint brand for furniture.  So we tried, and here is, my honest review of Fusion Mineral Paint.

Odor

This paint has no, as in zero, smell.  Of course, I am not allowed anywhere near a paint brush unless you want Jackson Pollack results in the most unlikeliest of places.  So this is a John project, but since it happens in the house, it affects all of us residents.

And this environmentally friendly paint really has no odor.  Check this box!

One Step Application

I’m not sure how this works with all finishes, but this table already had a matte finish, so with no sanding and just a little light cleaning, the painting commenced.  John did end up doing two coats to make sure all the white was covered.  Another box checked!

Coverage

As I said, this wasn’t exactly one coat, but only about 1/3 of the jar we bought was needed for this project.  We are now free to paint every other piece of furniture in our house black.  Yes, let’s do it.  I love it!

Finish

The finish is smooth and beautiful.

This product may be a little harder to find than the (daily) run to Home Depot and it may be a little pricey, but YES, if you have a furniture project, find this paint, buy it and LOVE it.

Console Table

This table needed a little flashier handle, so at the (daily) Home Depot run, hub found this knob and I think it’s cute.

Here is a picture that shows the table in relation to the other furniture in the room.  What is your opinion?  Is black the right direction?

What I’m Eating

Our weather has been spectacular the past week.  As in the evenings and mornings are cool and we are opening the windows and enjoying the fresh air before the AC kicks in.  September is usually a little warmer, so it’s been a wonderful surprise.

And that means that comfort food has made it back onto the menu.  Beef stew and those yummy Joy Bauer meatballs have made it into my crockpot this week.

On another note, I have added ½ teaspoon of cacao to my morning coffee.  Anybody here do that as well?  I have heard about the health benefits of cacao for years but am just now trying it.  With the giant amount of half and half I use, it turns my morning beverage into a mocha latte.  Yum!

What I’m Reading

New author to me, Chris Pavone’s Two Nights in Lisbon is a thriller with a female protagonist.  Which I usually like.  But here’s the deal.  Chris is a dude.  And in my experience, many dudes who write from a kick-ass woman’s perspective get it all wrong.  And this was no exception.  Ariel is boring and unbelievable.  The book is long.  And repetitive.  And not that thrilling.  Although there is a good twist and it could actually have been a good book.

But it’s not a recommend.  I’m going to give it three stars because it wasn’t horrible and I did finish it, but it was laborious instead of joyous.

Wrap Up

There is nothing big on our calendar this week, but I’m looking forward to a good one nonetheless.  I’m praying for heaps on blessings on you and yours this week.
