If you’re starting to think about updating your wardrobe, spring dresses are one of the easiest ways to welcome the season. Today I’m sharing a few beautiful options that work especially well for women who prefer flattering cuts, sleeves, and a little more coverage.
These spring dresses are flattering options for women who prefer a little more coverage while still looking stylish.
Are you enjoying spring yet? Weather has been all over the place this year and it may not really feel like spring.
We are getting record-breaking heat, Hawaii has flooding, the Midwest vacillates (is that a word?) between tornadoes and snowstorms and the South keeps getting cold.
But. Here. In our little corner of the world, we’re having the perfect spring and we’re going to celebrate by shopping for some beautiful spring dresses.
I’m always attracted to dresses that the more mature crowd might want. You know, nothing with a halter top or midriff-baring styles. Alas, those days are long gone.
And if you’re one of my (few) male readers, you are excused from reading this, but please share with ladies in your life.
So grab a cup o’ something and let’s get shopping.
Nordstrom Spring Dresses
Nordstrom always has some of the best spring dresses for weddings, showers, and special occasions.

The Milan Floral Top and Border Skirt is actually a two-piece set that looks like a dress, but man does it check all the boxes:
- Ruffle sleeves
- Longer length
- Stunning black and gold colors
- Perfect 5-star reviews
Oh, and this wasn’t really a criterion, but it’s on sale! If you have any upcoming events, you might want to snag this one.
The Daria Print Tiered dress gives me Tuckernuck vibes at a really good price. It’s sassy and casual with good reviews.
Also from the affordable Petal & Pup line is the Petal Floral. I love the sleeve length and the pattern screams SPRING! This dress would be so pretty for upcoming graduations, weddings or showers.
J. Crew Factory Spring Dresses
You know J. Crew Factory is one of my wardrobe go-to stores, so it’s no surprise I found several options here.

Have you ever known me to turn down stripes? So you know this cute, casual Striped Poplin Shirt Dress is calling my name! Perfect 5-star reviews on this one.
The Embroidered Puff-Sleeve dress has really good reviews and the side zipper is so handy when you don’t have another pair of hands to help you get that last inch closed up your back.
The Tie-Waist Mixed Media dress is sleeveless which is not a great option for me, but it gets great reviews and its nautical look never gets old. You’ll be wearing this one for seasons to come.
I love that it comes in both blue and neutral if you want less color.
Talbots Spring Dresses

Talbots Poplin Midi is a beautiful color and paisley pattern, but it may not be for everyone. One model (shown here) looks fantastic. The dress shown on the blonde looks awful. Hmmm. It does come in petite which is always a plus for me.
The Effortless Jersey is a packable dress which would be easy to slip into a carry-on suitcase with a pair of sandals for a special getaway.
Affordable Amazon Spring Dress
I have not jumped on the loungewear bandwagon. Because when I see women traveling wearing popular “lounging” outfits, ummm, just no. They do look comfy, but they also look like she’s traveling in her PJs.

However, this two-piece skirt set gets great reviews and the price is good. I think this blue-gray color is pretty and when you need something to wear just a little nicer than what you wear lazing on the couch, this might be the answer.
What do you think?
