What I Buy at Trader Joe’s: Easy Meals, Freezer Favorites, and Healthy Staples

Trader Joe’s has become one of my favorite places to shop for easy meals, healthy staples, and freezer favorites that make everyday cooking simpler. Not because I buy everything there—but because the things I do buy consistently make life easier. Whether I’m trying to eat a little healthier, plan meals for the week, or pull together something quick for dinner or guests, there are a handful of Trader Joe’s staples I return to again and again.

If you’re looking for Trader Joe’s meal inspiration, these have been tried and true in our home. They carry the seal of approval from all of us—including Roxy. 😉

Healthy Staples I Always Keep on Hand

It’s quite a trek making a Trader Joe’s run, so I like to stock the pantry when I go. And sometimes—sometimes—they stop carrying our favorite products!

Like the gluten-free noodles hub loves. After nearly a year off the shelves, they finally returned, and you can bet I stocked up.

Just this Sunday, I made slow cooker chicken soup, and he enjoyed it over those noodles. They’re easily his favorite gluten-free option.

Trader Joe’s Harvest Blend, couscous, and lentils are staples I rely on regularly. They work beautifully as side dishes or as the base for hearty salads, especially during warmer months.

I recently shared my Grilled Chicken Harvest Blend Salad, which I enjoyed twice in one week. It’s that good. These grains are perfect for easy lunches, potlucks, and casual entertaining.

Trader Joe’s produce is generally fresh and reliable. The cherry tomatoes I picked up recently were especially good—and even came in packaging that appeared more environmentally friendly than typical plastic containers.

At a recent galentine gathering, I made the cutest heart-shaped crudité plate with all my favorite TJ’s produce. Sorry, I forget to snap a pic.

When I make a bigger breakfast, I sauté spinach and jalapeños, scramble in a couple of eggs, and serve with sliced tomatoes and sourdough bread. Simple and satisfying.

And of course, Roxy loves Trader Joe’s dry cat food. Somehow, she always knows when a fresh bag appears and makes her opinion known immediately.

Entertaining Made Easy with Trader Joe’s Freezer Favorites

Trader Joe’s freezer section is one of my favorite places to find easy appetizers and entertaining shortcuts.

Their frozen appetizers make hosting effortless. Whether guests stop by unexpectedly or I want to serve something warm and welcoming, I know I can rely on a few favorites.

The Pastry Pups are always a hit—far better than their simple description suggests.

Mini Tacos are another crowd-pleaser that disappear quickly whenever I serve them.

And when the craving for pizza strikes, Trader Joe’s frozen pizzas are surprisingly excellent—often better than takeout. I like to add fresh tomatoes, basil, or Kalamata olives for a little extra flavor.

For Mediterranean-inspired gatherings, Trader Joe’s falafel and naan pair perfectly with homemade tzatziki. It’s one of my favorite easy entertaining combinations.

Wrap Up

Trader Joe’s makes everyday meals feel a little more special—whether I’m serving something homemade, assembling a quick lunch, or pulling appetizers from the freezer for guests.

Nothing complicated. Just reliable, delicious staples that make life easier.
