Well, the house is freshly painted in the new Polar Bear color and we are both happy with the way it turned out.
And now. Comes the post paint pick up and put back together part. Which took the entire weekend.
Sunday was rainy so honey-dos were not so painful. And having the TV going with endless football and golf seemed helpful. If you catch my drift.
Hang Art
Many things got different homes after the painting. Hub took pictures of the original placement so where we decided to re-hang, it was easy. Especially since we asked the painters to fill in all nail holes.
We didnāt repaint our bedroom, but we hung botanical prints over our bed since the mirror there got a new home in the hallway.
Hanging things in a straight line became so much easier when hub got a laser level a few years ago in his Christmas stocking.
Plus itās always fun using a gadget.
Not the best pic in the world, but you can see the laser (and the hub) at work here.
Redecorate for the Season
Iām not always first off the mark for seasonal decorating, but since everything was already torn up, I took the opportunity to bring out a little fall dĆ©cor.
The entry console got a neutral look. Donāt ask me why. There was no rationale; it just turned out that way and Iām happy with the look.
White Pumpkins
On several of the blogs I read, Iāve seen these white pumpkins that come in a bag from Amazon.Ā Of course, I bought two bags and now I have white pumpkins everywhere.Ā Ha.Ā I like them though.
The basket under the console got white velvet pumpkins.
Diet and Exercise
Why, oh why can I not get both of these things on track at the same time? New classes and a tamer schedule meant I tried out some new group exercise classes at our club to see what changes I could incorporate to my routine.
Mixing things up makes me happy.
But then. Snacking hell last week.
The weekendās busyness helped me get the snacking under control and I hope to carry that out this week.
One of my favorite instructors, Solangy, has taken her functional training class up a notch for sure. We did nice and heavy weights with the Bosu. Yikes!
Now I wasnāt brave enough to take a foot off the Bosu while doing this exercise, but look at this strong girl!
Not only was she using a 15-pound weight, she had one leg in the air. Motivating for sure.
I want to be just like her when I grow up. Oh, and 20 years younger like she is too.
DF Cindy teaches an aerobics class twice a week and I was able to sneak out to one of her classes this week. Cindy also subbed the chair yoga class I love so bonus to spend a little time exercising with a good friend.
What Iām Eating
Since the George Foreman grill showed up in our house, weāve used it a few times. Last week we made burgers and grilled potato slices.
Hmmm, could that contribute to my eating issues?
I opted for a veggie burger and John opted for the Omaha Steak burger. He uses a lettuce ābun.ā I use a Kaiser roll.
The potatoes were okay, nothing special. We (by which I mean John) used the mandolin for even and thinnish slices. We spiced it up with Tonyās creole seasoning, a bit of chopped onion and a spray of olive oil. Placed in a foil packet and grilled for about 20 minutes.
The burgers, on the other hand, turned out really good. For a weeknight meal, this was pretty fast and easy.
So far this has been a good purchase for us.
Wrap Up
Are you ready for this week? Are you ready to join me in my on-going commitment to better eating and fitness? Are you notching out a little time to make sure you are enjoying this journey?
Blessings heaped on you and yours this week.
