Summer Patio Refresh

Our road trip over the past week treated us to every weather there is.  Yep, wind, rain, sleet, sun and SNOW.  And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I no longer live in Colorado.  The need to scrape snow in May?  How about in June?  Umm, no thank you.

Regardless of the awful weather, we had a wonderful time with DS Susie her fam.  We hung out inside and played games and visited and ate.  Of course.

But the snowy conditions meant we cut our trip short a day and powered through the drive home.

And then.  I got to spend two days and plenty of ibuprofen getting my patio and back yard tidied up and refreshed.  Today I’m just going to talk about the refresh part.  Next post will be the tidy up part.  It’s way more boring.

Recent ads and blog posts of a Walmart favorite outdoor set got me salivating and, should I admit it?  Obsessed.   So, of course, I ordered it online.

The most exciting part was opening this huge box and seeing all my new stuff.  I cannot complain about the quality at all.  Much better than what you might (or might not) equate with Walmart.

TaDa.  What do you think?

The summer lounging area moved away from the fire pit and into the shade is now so cheerful with this multicolored set of pillows and rug.

I cannot even decide which pillow I love more; they are all adorable.  Mulit-colored stripes?  Medallion?  RELAX? Fringed gold?

The outdoor dining table even got a little spruce up thanks to Walmart.  And a large balance on my credit card.  Yikes.  And this was bargain stuff.

The new lantern with an outdoor flameless (another word for fake and plastic) candle is the perfect size for the table.  The actual real candle is citronella and it’s going to get used when the skeeters get bad.  Which will be soon, I’m sure.

You can see Roxy approves.   And was quite helpful.

Cement planters are so popular now and I found the cutest one at World Market.  Amongst the hard-to-keep-alive annuals, I have intermixed some “faux” (my fancy word for fake and plastic) greenery.  Hmm, maybe next year it will all be faux.

The little wrought iron table is old, old, old, but it keeps coming in handy year after year, so I don’t get rid of it.  You can see it’s the perfect size for the new plant, a beverage and a Kindle.  What more could you want on your patio?

Looks like DF Jimmy in Dallas is getting his patio and pool all ready for the summer too.  Isn’t this adorable?

You know I am dying to share some recipes and books with you, but in the interest of a super-long post, I’ll save it for next time.

If you’re not already, I hope soon you’ll be kicking off your summer and will make up for the past year.

Many blessings on your weekend.
