It has been ages and ages since I visited, and I thought it was high time to peruse the aisles and see what new World Market finds caught my eye.
We have reached that funny time of year when the days are getting shorter and I’m starting to get in the mood for candles and evening cocoa.
But…
The days are still piping hot, and iced tea and water aerobics are very much on the agenda.
So getting into the mood to shop for Thanksgiving — much less Christmas! — is very far from my mind.
And I don’t really need anything, but I know that with the changing retail seasons, there are a lot of new things out there.
So, if you’re like me and have been avoiding the new season, come along as I take a little gander through World Market and show you what caught my eye!
Candles in Every Scent
As you enter the store, there is a huge display of apothecary candles in multiple sizes and scents.
The mini candles are 3 for $12, which I think is great because it gives you the opportunity to try a new scent without committing to an entire season of smelling it.
And when I say every scent, I mean an amazing selection of scents!
If that isn’t enough, they also sell essential oils for only $4 in many of the same scents for diffusing.
The soft glow of candlelight and the cozy scent of my diffuser don’t exactly scream AUTUMN, but for me, they are the foundation of what makes me happy to stay home.
I’ll take that over rushing into pumpkin-and-Christmas mode any day.
The Cutest Little Woodland Creatures
These!
They look like real critters. Real critters that don’t bite or shed. Critters that just want to snuggle and look cute.
I’ll take that kind of wildlife any day. 😂
In the store, these little guys sell for $10 each, but online they are sold in sets of three and aren’t quite the same.
Would these be adorable tucked into an autumn tablescape?
Or how about sitting amidst fairy lights in a fireplace garland?
I know!
I’m already picturing them in my house.
The Men’s Essentials Section
I equate World Market with their wonderful home décor, so rarely do I even glance at their self-care section.
However, they have a lot of products I haven’t seen before that looked really fun and interesting.
The Men’s Essentials items are packaged to look like elegant gifts, with scents that are nice, but still manly. (I guess 😉)
The giant bottle of Ridgewell Body, Hair & Face Wash caught my eye. Not only is the bottle lovely, but it seems like the perfect addition to a man’s shower.
Because we all know men use shampoo for their entire body, right?
How is it that I spend — Lord, I do not want to admit what I spend! — on skincare, while men can spend $3 on any ol’ thing from the drugstore and still look just fine?
Another unsolved mystery.
In any case, these products look like they could take a man’s self-care routine up a notch. And if you’re long-term thinking about a gift or stocking stuffer, this might be worth considering.
Woven Baskets & Storage
And what do I spy with my little eye right behind the Men’s shelf?
Well, if you’re like me, you cannot resist looking at a beautiful basket or textured storage piece.
The Daisy Oval Seagrass Scalloped Tower is online for a sale price of $91, while the in-store price is $130.
It is definitely worth taking a minute to check prices when shopping!
In any case, this little shelf is just adorable, and if I could figure out a place for it, it would be in my shopping cart.
Unfortunately, my house has apparently reached its basket capacity.
Or so my husband would say.
Wrap Up
Of course, there are still all the cute, kitschy things World Market is known for, but this trip was a bit of a surprise.
I didn’t even look at anything Christmas.
Instead, I enjoyed seeing some new items and what feels like a bit of a new direction for the store.
We don’t have to rush into the next season just because the stores have already moved on.
I think it’s nice to enjoy the season we’re actually in — even when it’s still 100+ degrees outside and autumn is nowhere to be found.
I hope this little shopping trip gives you some inspiration for enjoying our right-now time and not thinking too far ahead to far-flung holidays.
