A Few Things I Love This Spring

It feels like this is a very long spring this year.  Home in Arizona has been lush and full of desert blooms.  Early this year, I saw the dogwoods and magnolias of Georgia blossom.

Our latest trip through Wyoming, South Dakota and Colorado have extended spring quite a bit, because these states are just getting going on the greening up.

But since I love spring so much, I am loving it and am sharing a few other things I have found to love this season.

Friends and Family

There is no secret how blessed I am by the relationships in my life.  The close friends we have spent the past year have granted me the tiny bit of sanity I have left.  But getting out on the road has meant seeing my darling friends and family from whom I have been separated.

DF Julie took time from her Mother’s Day morning to meet us in north Denver at an adorable and busy coffee shop.

DS Susie opened her house (and laundry facilities) for a couple days.  Adorable nephew Drew and Cesar joined us and celebrated Mother’s Day with us.

Furry Darlings

One of my cat nephews, Murphy, is the friendliest guy ever.  The energy!  He followed us everywhere.  Whoops, he’s accidentally got in my suitcase and came home with me.  Just kidding.

Julie’s Domonick lays on her lap with his little paws over her arm.

Jimmy’s adorable King Charles lounges next to the pool in his new backyard.

Tulips and Hyacinths and Daffodils and Lilacs

Oh, how I love seeing those plants we don’t have in Phoenix. Except in the grocery store.

Salon Goodies

On an earlier post I mentioned I sent salon “Easter Baskets” from Salon Esteem to my sisters.  The feedback from both of them was excellent.  During my visit to DS Susie this week, she showed my that she keeps her Old Whaling body butter right on her desk and uses it  all day.

It’s no joke, living in dry climates creates quite a lotion dependency, and the constant search for the perfect product is a real thing.  I’m so happy she loves this product.

Really, if you have any skin needs, Jessy will go to lengths to customize to your needs, her prices are reasonable and she’ll ship anywhere.

Grove Cleaning Caddy

This cheerful spring caddy available from Grove this season got filled with kitchen cleaning goodies as a hostess gift.  Now, dang it, I want it for myself.

Denver Bread

DF Julie highly recommended picking up some homemade bread from Denver Bread’s Highlands location.  Sourdough snickerdoodles, sourdough bread and the three pound loaf of boule bread made it into our basket.

The Boule is the signature bread of the bakery. European style, sourdough method, country bread that apparently takes close to a month to get ready.

You know toast made it to the menu at Susie’s house.

DB-I-L made a delish chicken taco bar and I’m going to share the recipe, but this post is getting long, so I’ll put it on the next post.

Have a wonderful week and I hope you’re enjoying your loved ones.
