Some days motivation looks like cleaning the bathroom. Some days it looks like wandering Target. And enjoying the heck out of it.
It turned into a casual Target trip, a little home inspiration, and a small e.l.f. cosmetics haul that surprised me in the best way.
My Sunday started with a trip for gasoline. Which I didn’t really need because I hardly ever drive my car. But I trekked to Costco to top off the tank and guess what is right down the road?
Yep, Target. And there is really nothing better on an early Sunday morning than getting gas and strolling through Target. Ha!
Here is what caught my eye and a couple things that I brought home.
Target Finds That Caught My Eye
First in the Dollar Spot were these Frenchie Planters for $10. They are Valentine themed, but who wouldn’t love them any time of the year? They are ADORABLE.
I didn’t purchase them because those are real plants in them and I couldn’t bear to kill them off.

Moving on.
Home Scents & Décor
Do you diffuse essential oils? I love the Santal from AromaTech. But I also have a Pura smart diffuser in my kitchen. Target has a big display of Pura Diffusers and oils in the store right now. Their oils are less than AromaTech, but to be honest I’m not that big of a fan of things I have to control with my phone.
What are your thoughts?

And for really low-tech – what do you think of old-fashioned room spray? Not the nasty chemical kind. The kind that makes you think a sexy man stepped into your home. Yep, that’s what the Canvas Magnolia Room Spray smells like and I’m not even kidding.
The bottle is gorgeous and it’s now in my entryway. When you come to visit, I might be playing some Barry White.

Threshold came out with some blue and white ceramic pots this year that are a very close dupe for the Pottery Barn Montrose line.

They are gorgeous but I don’t really need another blue and white vase.
But.
The Target Blue and White Ceramic Vase is seriously $22. Not on sale. The similar size Montrose is $129.
Did I cave? Yes. Is it in my living room? Yes. I know I’ll find a better place for it, but it looks nice on this shelf now.

Getting big raves on social media is the McGee Accent Table. It really is all that. But at $150 it didn’t end up in my cart.

A Small e.l.f. Cosmetics Haul
Do you use e.l.f.? Off and on over the years, I’ve tried different products, mainly at the suggestion of someone or other, even at Ulta trips.
The problem with “drugstore” cosmetics is that it’s so hard to know the right shade.
But lately, every single thing I’ve tried from e.l.f. is a winner. I especially love that it is vegan and cruelty-free, which is more important to me that the fact that it is so affordable. And everything I’ve tried performs like a high-end product!

Their lip oil is considered a dupe for Dior Addict Lip Glow. I cannot attest to this since I have not purchased Dior. But for $8 (versus $44) it made my lips very shiny with just a tint of color.
I purchased a lip pencil in the color of “Pinky Swear” and the oil in “It’s Giving Guava.” They are a perfect match for each other.
Eye brighteners are new to me. I know. Where have I been? I don’t get out much.
So, just in case they’re new to you too, the theory is that they aren’t like a concealer for the dark circles under eyes, they give an effect of brightening without much color coverage.
I have been wanting to try a more expensive one, but I saw e.l.f.’s for $6 and snagged it. And I like it!
I read it’s a dupe for NARS which sells for $34.
The other new cosmetic trend I missed out on because I live under a rock is makeup setting sprays. You spray on a mist over your completed makeup and it acts as a powder without, um, powder.
I haven’t had full-face makeup since I purchased it, but I hear it’s a dupe for MAC and I’m excited to try it. Because with all the lines on my face, powder is never a good look for me.
The last product I tried is the Bronzer and Countour. I laughed so hard.
Because I’m just old-school and wiped that stuff all over like I normally would a bronzer and I looked like I was dressing up for the elementary school Thanksgiving play. Let me say a little goes a long way. This product is meant to be dotted, not swiped.
After I made this discovery, I watched a few YouTube videos and see how well it works when used as intended. I’m going to love it!

Wrap Up
Shopping at Target is different now. First of all, there appeared to be nothing on sale. There were no big sale signs or really special deals to be looking at.
Second, many departments appear to be cut way back – e.l.f. notwithstanding, however – so the aisles are not crowded and there is plenty of room for leisurely browsing.
Of course, I went first thing on Sunday morning, so the weekend crowds were probably still fast asleep, but I found it a relaxing experience.
What do you have on tap for the week? Things are so busy here this time of year, but I’m loving every minute of it.
As always, may God richly bless you.
