Things to Do, Places to Go & People to See

Things are certainly ramping up during Arizona’s busy season. Not only is town chock-full of snowbirds and visitors filling every store and restaurant, local events are filling up too.

Now is a good time to check out local happenings and get dialed in before your spot is spoken for!

I am no expert in the happenings in every town on the map; but, I know if holiday events are going on here, they might be where you are too.

Holiday Markets

Here in Anthem, the Autumn Fest will be held this coming weekend at our local park.

I know my friend Andrea from V-Juv (post here) will have a booth along with other local vendors.

In addition to the vendor booths, there is a carnival, pumpkin patch and food court.  Something for everyone.

And, one of the best things about the event – the weather on Saturday is forecast to reach 78!  Summer in November!

My sister Susie and her hub Mike always schedule a holiday market visit to a charming European city.  It looks very cold to me, but they love it!

Do you have craft fairs or markets that are on your holiday agenda?

Turkey Trots

We have participated every year in our local turkey trot (we actually have two in Anthem – but we only do one 😉) for at least the past 20 years.

I love knowing that no matter what the rest of the day may bring, I have started it out with a good five-mile walk (trotting no longer happening).

Here is a link for turkey trot races held across the country (including two in Alaska!).  You know, just in case you feel like signing up now.

Do you love some brisk exercise on holiday mornings too?

Live Theater

Theater season is in full swing everywhere and the energy of seeing something on stage is the best.

Musical Theatre of Anthem in our community always has really professional, quality shows featuring young, local talent.

The Love Cabaret is showing this month and information is here.

I highly recommend looking at community theatre events in your own town – you will be supporting a good cause and enjoying a great hour or two.

Anthem Health & Wellness Club

Deb’s next meeting features Shelly Cass, a holistic wellness practitioner, discussing the body’s ability to heal itself.

Should be a good one!

Wrap Up

I hope this post gets your juices flowing and inspires you to mix up your routine and do something a little different.

And here’s where you come in! What fun things are happening in your neck of the woods? A holiday market, a turkey trot, a local performance, or something completely unexpected? I’d love to hear about it.

I plan to make this a monthly feature, so send me your ideas and perhaps I’ll include them in an upcoming post!

Have a wonderful weekend and may God bless you and yours.
