- chopped onion to taste use fresh or dried
- minced garlic to taste
- 1 bay leaf

- 2 medium carrots, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 2 medium potatoes, chopped
- 1 cup green beans
- ½ cup frozen corn
- ½ cup frozen peas
