Easy Homemade Lettuce Wraps
These homemade lettuce wraps are easy to modify to any taste buds.

- 1 chicken breast, cooked and shredded
- 1 head butter lettuce (or other large-leafed lettuce)
- 1-2 carrots, julienned or thinly diced
- 1 stalk celery, diced small
- 1 shallot, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Sauce
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- red chili flakes to taste
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp corn starch
Topping
- ¼ cup peanuts, chopped
- sesame seeds to taste
Cook one large chicken breast and shred. I boiled a breast and then shredded with the KitchenAid.
Whisk together sauce ingredients.
Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium high heat and add veggies until celery just starts to turn soft. (About 5 minutes). Add cooked, shredded chicken and sauce. Reduce heat and simmer until sauce thickens. (About 5-10 minutes)
Arrange clean lettuce leaves on a plate and top each leaf with a bit of meat and veggie filling. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and sesame seeds.
